Watching lines of storms on radar all day, I had only caught a few rain wrapped landscapes. I decided to stop by the shoreline for a look as the skies began to darken in hopes of capturing something….anything. Although hidden on radar because no rain was associated with the cold front, I was spot-on this day because a shelf cloud stormed right toward me as I stepped onto the beach. It was a mild evening in April and the cold front rushed overhead super quick as I was trying to capture it. Once it descended on me, the temperature dove and became so cold I could see my breath accompanied by a mist that filled the air.
Capture Date: April 10, 2017
