  • Tripod is required.

  • DSLR or mirrorless cameras are required. An entry-level DSLR with a kit lens is sufficient for learning the basics.

  • English is the primary language for the workshop.

  • Preparation checklist provided when registration is processed.

  • RSVP will be required when a workshop time is announced; only the first participants who respond will be enrolled. If the workshop time is not convenient, you can ignore and you'll be automatically included in the notifications for the next workshop session.

  • If possible, make time for an "aurora nap" earlier in the day to stay energized for the workshop which could involve a fair amount of waiting after instruction, simulation, and preparation.

  • This workshop is designed for learning to capture minor to moderate shows. Workshops may not be scheduled for rare, historic aurora events.

  • Walking moderate distances on uneven terrain at night may be required for part of the workshop.

  • Upon arrival at the location, participants will be greeted and presented with a liability waiver to be signed by the participant.

  • Workshops are subject to abrupt postponement if aurora or weather conditions drastically change before workshop begins.

  • Workshops typically begin after sunset and last 4-6 hours, possibly longer depending on aurora and weather conditions.

  • Cancellations are subject to a $75 cancellation fee.

  • Transportation, accommodations and meals not included.

  • Taxes are included in the cost of the workshop.
